     The Stowers Institute for Medical Research provides opportunities for doctoral research in a stimulating and interactive environment. Ph.D. students will study under the direction of a Stowers scientist in state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with the most advanced technology and assisted by world-class support facilities. They receive competitive fellowships and benefits.

     The Institute conducts broad-based interdisciplinary research directed at understanding the genetic, molecular and cellular pathways that control how multicellular organisms are normally formed and patterned and how they are altered in disease.

     Selected candidates will be creative and motivated individuals who have earned an appropriate undergraduate degree. Candidates must also be admitted to a qualified Ph.D. graduate program that recognizes Stowers scientists as supervisors of dissertation research. Those programs include:      Students interested in conducting predoctoral research at the Stowers Institute must contact one of the Institute’s principal investigators (PIs). If the PI determines that the student may be a good fit for the research team, the student will be asked to complete the application process by submitting the following:

     1. CV with list of publications
     2. Statement of research interest
     3. Official transcript(s)
     4. Two letters of recommendation from advisor
     5. Dates of availability
