Postdoctoral Research Associate Named Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Special Fellow

Kansas City, Mo. (Jan. 30, 2006) – Philippe Prochasson, Ph.D., a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the lab of Investigator Jerry Workman, Ph.D., has been named a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Special Fellow. The three-year appointment will begin on July 1, 2006, and will provide $60,000 of funding annually. Dr. Prochasson currently holds a regular postdoctoral fellowship from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

“The Special Fellow award is a great honor for Dr. Prochasson, who has been a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Postdoctoral Fellow for the past three years,” said Dr. Workman. “In granting him the Special Fellowship, the Society acknowledges both the value of his past research and the promise of his future work.”

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Special Fellows must have completed a minimum of two years of postdoctoral research training and continue to conduct their research under the direction of a research sponsor. The Special Fellowship is designed to permit the fellow to begin transitioning to an independent research program.

Dr. Prochasson earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, an M.Sc. in Fundamentals of Oncogenesis, and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Paris XI, Orsay, France. He has worked with Dr. Workman since 2001, and joined the Stowers Institute in 2003.
