Teri Johnson Receives Biogenex Award for Standardization in Immunohistochemistry

Kansas City, Mo. (Sept. 27, 2005) – Teri Johnson, Managing Director of the Institute’s Histology Facility, was recently awarded the Biogenex Award for Standardization in Immunohistochemistry at the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH) annual meeting.

More than 2,000 histology professionals gathered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to attend the 31st Annual Symposium Convention. The NSH is a non-profit organization, committed to the advancement of histotechnology, its practitioners, and quality standards of practice through leadership, education, and advocacy.

The award for Standardization in Immunohistochemistry is presented annually to a NSH member who is certified in histology and has contributed to the advancement of histotechnology standardization in any facet of histopathology, such as antigen retrieval, microtomy, special stains, immunohistochemistry, or image analysis.

“Teri’s leadership of the Histology Facility has made it a tremendous asset for the Stowers Institute,” said Robb Krumlauf, Ph.D., Scientific Director. “She and her team provide expert collaborative assistance to many scientists in the Institute who require state-of-the-art histology and immunohistochemistry.”

“We are very pleased with the NSH recognition of Teri’s outstanding work here at the Stowers Institute,” said Bill Neaves, Ph.D., President and CEO. “Her skills and dedication to excellence in histotechnology contribute significantly to the productivity and quality of research conducted throughout the Institute.”
